Common Questions
The difference lies in two key areas: the source of healing and the aspects of you we engage with.
The Source of Healing is You: Traditional methods often focus on applying external strategies as the solution. Here, any tool or strategy we use is simply a way to help you hear your own inner guide. The goal is to activate your innate wisdom, not to have you adopt mine.
We Engage the Whole System: Instead of isolating the mind, the body, or spirit, we listen to the entire composition of you at once. True harmony arises when your body feels safe, your inner family feels welcome, and your soul feels heard and authentically expressed.
Think of a session as a collaborative journey with a natural, unfolding rhythm. While every session is unique to you, it often flows like this:
Establishing Comfort & Safety: We always begin by taking the time to help you feel truly at ease. We'll make any adjustments needed—in your position or your environment—to create a foundation of deep comfort and well-being.
Connecting with Your Inner Guide: From that safe space, we invite a deeper connection to your soul's wisdom. This isn't a single formula; we use the pathway that feels right for you, whether it's a guided meditation, gentle movement or other forms of expression, nervous system regulation, or simply welcoming all aspects of yourself.
Following Your Inner Wisdom: Once that deeper connection is present, we listen and follow its lead. This is the heart of the session, where we do whatever is needing to happen—welcoming and hearing different parts of you, allowing for authentic expression, or moving through emergent feelings, all guided from within.
Integration & Completion: As we draw to a close, we invite you to sense if any intuitive action steps wish to emerge to carry the experience into your life. We then ensure a gentle return, giving you time to integrate what happened and feel a clear sense of completion.
My approach, Soul Integration, is not based on a single method but emerged from the confluence of three deep streams that have run through my entire life: deep inner listening, embodied creative expression, and spiritual inquiry.
The Stream of Deep Listening (Our Foundation): The home base for our sessions is Experiential Focusing, a gentle yet powerful practice of attending to your body's inner wisdom—its "felt sense"—to discover what is truly right and true for you. My many years of personal practice, which led to my certification, taught me the core skills of welcoming every part of your experience without judgment, and trusting your body's inner sense of what feels truly right. To ensure this deep listening is always profoundly safe, I draw on my training as a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP), which gives us the tools to work directly with your nervous system. As we listen, we will compassionately meet all the different "parts" of you, using insights from models like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and a practice rooted in Inner Relationship Focusing.
The Stream of Embodied Creativity (My Source of Knowing): My life as an artist and musician is not a separate skill set; it is a parallel source of knowing. Through music, I have a direct, palpable, and living experience of what it feels like to connect with the soul and express from that deep, wise source. This lived understanding of creative flow is complemented by specific practices that invite your own expression. My deep exploration of Focusing-Oriented Expressive Arts and Wholebody Focusing means we can use movement, gesture, or art not as a performance, but as a direct language for your inner world. This ensures our work together is never rigid or purely analytical, but alive, attuned, and responsive to your whole being.
The Stream of Spiritual Inquiry (Our Guiding Purpose): Finally, everything we do is held within a spacious, spiritual context. My explorations in meditation, transpersonal psychology, and consciousness studies ensure that our work is always in service of the ultimate purpose: to help you connect with the profound wisdom, clarity, and guidance of your own soul.
This is a very important question, and it speaks to the heart of the work. My absolute commitment is to create a space where you feel profoundly safe. Your well-being is our unwavering priority, and you are always in control. Here is how we ensure that:
We Prioritize Your Felt Safety Above All Else: Our guiding principle is to maintain a predominant sense of safety and well-being at all times. This means we don't "dip into" challenging feelings. Instead, we work to ensure the container of safety is always strong enough to meet what’s present in a gentle and manageable way. We intentionally stay within your "window of enjoyment," where you can be present with your experience with curiosity, not fear.
We Focus on Resources in the Present: You do not have to talk about your past or relive painful memories. While memories might arise, our focus is on building new resources and felt experiences of safety in your body now. This is what allows old wounds to heal gently, without needing to be reopened in a painful way.
We Respect Your Relationship with Your Emotions: Your fear of certain emotions is completely understandable and welcome here. Our approach isn't to convince you not to be afraid, but to create conditions where you don't have to be. Because we stay within that window of enjoyment, any emotions that arise—whether joy, anger, or grief—do so in a manageable amount. You get to experience their wisdom and energy without being consumed by them.
That's completely normal. Feeling disconnected from your body is a common and intelligent protective response. We will start slowly and gently, perhaps by noticing external resources or a place in your body that feels even neutral. There is no pressure to feel anything specific. The process itself will gradually help you reconnect at a pace that feels safe.
Not at all. This work is designed for everyone, regardless of your background. You don't need to prepare or be "good at" anything. You only need to bring yourself, exactly as you are. My role is to be your attuned guide, meeting you in the moment and gently helping you connect with the resources that are already within you.
This is not only perfectly okay, it's essential information. A feeling of distance or numbness is not a failure; it may be a wise part of you communicating a need for more safety. Our first and most important job will be to honour that. We will gently shift our focus to cultivating a deeper sense of comfort and well-being, at your own pace. We always, always start exactly where you are, without any pressure to feel a certain way.
That’s a great question. No, this has nothing to do with multiple personalities. It’s a way of compassionately understanding our own complexity, recognising that every aspect of ourselves is fundamentally trying to help.
For example, we don't just see "an inner critic." We listen deeper and find a part that is desperately trying to protect you from external criticism by pointing out flaws first. A part that procrastinates might be trying to protect you from the overwhelming fear of not being good enough.
Integration is the process of recognizing the loving intention behind each part's strategy. When your wise, core Self can offer these parts the understanding and safety they've been seeking, they no longer need to use such extreme measures. They can relax and harmonize with the rest of your inner system.
Yes, absolutely. This is a common question, and it gets to the heart of what "authentic expression" truly means in our work. It has very little to do with being artistic or "creative."
Instead, think of it as expression that is in tune with your wise inner guidance. It's about the source, not the form.
Authentic expression can be a single word that feels deeply true, a simple hand gesture, a quiet moment of stillness, or a sound. It's defined by its inner resonance and harmony with your soul's wisdom, not by how it looks to anyone else. In fact, choosing to hold back can be just as authentic as letting go, if that's what your inner guidance knows is right. Our goal is simply to help you listen to and trust the unique ways your inner self wants to be expressed.
This is a profoundly neurodiversity-affirming space. Your unique brain wiring is not something to be "managed," but to be understood and honored. We will adapt the process to fit you, whether that means incorporating more movement, working with metaphor and art, or finding unique ways to help your specific nervous system feel safe. You are invited to unmask completely.
The best way to understand integration is as a natural rhythm, like breathing. The session and your life between sessions are the inhale and the exhale—one cannot exist without the other.
The session is the inhale. It’s where you draw nourishment, regulation, and clarity from the deep well of your soul's wisdom. In this deeply connected state, the intuitive actions for your life—your exhale—often begin to emerge with beautiful clarity.
Living your life is the exhale. It’s where you express this inner alignment through those emergent actions. They form a continuous cycle. The exhale of action in the world makes space for a deeper inhale in our next session, and the inhale enriches your exhale. They are co-equal partners in your transformation. Any practices we discuss simply support this natural, life-giving rhythm.
It helps by creating a space safe enough to meet the parts of you that have worked so hard to protect you. The layers of "shoulds," old beliefs, and protective masks aren't things we clear away; they are strategies from parts of you trying to keep you safe. By offering these parts compassion and a deep experience of safety, they can finally relax their efforts, allowing the quiet, steady wisdom of your core Self to naturally emerge.
Yes. People-pleasing is a brilliant survival strategy, often learned early in life by a part of you that believes, "To be safe, I must be what others want me to be." We don't fight this part; we meet it with compassion. By offering it a new, profound experience of safety in our sessions, it learns that it doesn't have to perform to belong. When this part can relax, the need to people-please diminishes, making space for your soul-aligned, authentic expression to guide your interactions.
By helping you access a more reliable inner compass. When you are grounded in your body and connected to your core Self, decisions are no longer just a mental calculation. They become a "felt sense." You begin to feel, in your gut, what is a "yes" and what is a "no" for you, leading to choices that are deeply aligned with your true path.
This is the very essence of the work. That conflict you feel is real, and it's exhausting because you have two powerful parts trying to protect you in different ways. Our goal isn't to pick a winner. Instead, we allow your core Self to become a compassionate listener to both, allowing the brilliant strategist in your head and the deep feeling in your heart to finally collaborate, leading to integrated solutions that feel both wise and right.
While this work is not a medical treatment, it can be a powerful support. Chronic conditions often involve a nervous system caught in a state of high alert. We work to help regulate your system, which can ease the stress patterns that contribute to physical symptoms. More than that, we help you shift from a relationship of fighting or fixing your body to one of deep listening and compassion. This builds an inner alliance, transforming your relationship with your body into a true partnership.
While relief from anxiety and a greater sense of peace are common, the most powerful outcome is developing a deep and embodied trust in your own inner guidance. It's not a static endpoint, but the lived experience of having a reliable Inner Guide you can turn to. It’s the capacity to navigate life’s challenges from a place of inner knowing, and the confidence that you have the resources to meet whatever comes your way with wisdom and grace.
It works very effectively online because I am able to attune to what truly matters for our work: the subtle shifts in your nervous system. Through a high-quality video connection, I can observe your breathing patterns, posture, and other physiological cues that help me guide you in maintaining a state of felt safety.
In many ways, the online format is a significant benefit. Being in your own home allows you to create a space that feels deeply comfortable and secure, which is the most important foundation for this work. It's a powerful combination: I can observe what's needed to ensure safety, while you get to be in the environment where you feel most at ease.
The best preparation is to create a supportive space where you can feel free and comfortable. This is an active and embodied process, so think about what you might need to support that.
Create Your Space: Please find a private, quiet space where you have the freedom to move. It’s helpful to be able to sit, stand, or lie down as your body guides you.
Ensure Clear Connection: Using headphones is essential. It ensures you can hear my voice clearly, which is vital for the attuned guidance we'll be doing together.
Welcome Your Expression: Feel free to have a journal, art materials, or musical instruments nearby. Our sessions welcome expression in many forms—words, movement, sound, or images—and you might find these tools helpful to use during our time together.
Minimize Distractions: Please silence your phone and close unnecessary computer notifications so we can protect our dedicated container.
Your healing journey is as unique as you are, so there is no set number. We approach this question by listening to your own inner guidance.
A single session is always designed as a complete and powerful experience, often providing a tangible shift in clarity and well-being.
However, deep and lasting transformation often unfolds over time. Multiple sessions allow us to build a profound container of trust, giving the more guarded parts of you the time they need to feel safe and seen.
For those who feel a clear inner "yes" to a more sustained journey, I offer a 4-session pack that provides a dedicated container for this deeper unfolding.
Ultimately, we can explore what feels most aligned for you after our first session, trusting the wisdom that emerges.
